Instrumentation and monitoring is often considered an additional, and perhaps over-specified, project expense. However, we believe that cleverly designed I&M can play a key role in reducing construction costs as it allows verification of the design assumptions, and potential to optimise these through performance evaluation.

Dr. Bedi has been heavily involved in design of I&M systems and to both verify excavation performance and also assure asset owners of integrity. Dr Bedi has worked alongside monitoring sub-contractors on sited during construction to develop innovative monitoring systems as an assurance and optimisation tool especially where large excavations come in close proximity of operational assets.

Our design engineers have a thorough understanding of I&M tools available and are familiar with the specific instrumentation and monitoring requirements to accurately measure the behaviour of the ground and underground structures during construction.
